Sandra Jovanovic was born on 11th of October, 1979, in Belgrade. She graduated the art of painting st the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade,2004. During her studies, she had exhibited on certain group exhibitions in the gallery "Cvijeta Zuzoric" (Belgrade 2004), the gallery "Atrijum"(Kotor 2004). At the exhibition named "The Contemporary Painters of Serbia and Montenegro"- the gallery "Dalas" (Belgrade 2005), the painting of Sandra Jovanovic "Awakening", from the serial "The Slavic Mythology" was chosen, in the selection, as the only work of the youngest generation, and was exhibited togeather with the works of the most famous artists of Serbia and Montenegro during the period from 1930-2005. Her indipendent exhibitions are: the gallery "Tas" (Belgrade 2005), the gallery"Radionica Duse" (Belgrade 2006), the gallery "Guarnerius" (Belgrade 2007)...

ESOTERIC LANDSCAPES
To paint, for Sandra Jovanovic means to cultivate her own painting garden with devotion, to listen attentively to the lights and shadows deep inside. The man`s soul is a distant land to which we can not approach closer, nor examine it either, Chasterton used to say. Here, this truth itself the paintings of Sandra Jovanovic announce. Sandra`s sophisticated affinity for mysterious, hidden, astonishing and unreachable does impress us all. On her paintings, the perspectives of the nymphs as well as of hypnogogical landscapes are getting opened. Dreadful spaces of mystery are rousing from asleep. Sandra`s dawns and twilights are impregnated and bewitched by delicate and colorful eroticism. Dark and light seaweeds and long, wavy floral motives, reveal its moisten sensuality, and an inclination of the artist toward decadent aestheticism as well. Flora, swaying to nonexistence, announces its fragile existence. Everything there hovers, in a gentle love touch, in interwining, in blooming. In one mystical panteism, a woman is being transformed into a mountain. Here, a woman`s sculpture comes to the surface from mysterious underground passages of time and in this way she tries the infinity itself. And erotic is being sublimated into spiritual, too.
In living collaboration of consciousness and unconsciousness, Sandra Jovanović instinctively comprehends the spaces of metamorphoses, settling them with the female sculptures and chimeras together with the character of flora and fauna, which are hiding the longings of a being of the jungle itself. The awakening of unusual, fantastic forms is developed under unpredictible regularity of unconsciousness, one of mystery, as well. A fine expert of oniric substance will in Sandra`s paintings discover a subjective architecture of hypnogogical images, characters and archetypical appearances, fables and hell`s layers without any light.
Sandra Jovanović discovers her actual asylum in the symbol of the mountain as a primary cosmological image of spirit, inteligence, hidden secrets as well as causality. ( Let us now remind ourselves on the mountain, with its deep silence governing, we ascend to reach the life above, together with immortality conquerring our own being ). This artist paints oniric, archetypical areas, of exceptionaly complexed register of lights and shadows. On those areas she explores the mystical constelation between landscapes, magical human appearance as well as time. The man, on Sandra`s paintings, is a dark traveller throughout the worlds, through the dreamy and foggy lyricism of erotic fever.
Melancholy, which is spiritual, lights up these paintings with such joy, as they are built on the mysterious laws of esoteric symbolism. On Sandra`s paintings there is also some vaque memory of psychological style of the sixties. On these canvases, on which deep ultramarine dominates together with bishop-purple, sunny-ocher and reddish skies of lust, some mysterious, metaphysical fluid reverents it all. An observer of the sensitive spiritual and also one of the religious structure, imperceptibly gets drawn into depths of Sandra`s mystical sights and mysterious abysses.

The creative opus of young Sandra Jovanovic`s fine art is original concerning the theme, her paintings radiate with spirituality, beauty, faith and energy of optimism, also containing significant elements of history, art and tradition. In the poetics of sights on her paintings, the source of particular pleasantness is a sublimate of dreams and of reality as well. They are observed from the outside, and strongly experience from the inside as a synopsis of some new Bunjuel.Through asocial psychorealism on her canvases, Sandra Jovanović pictures her internal visions for the legends of civilization, with the messages of love, hope, and liberated spirit. Indeed, her paintings consist mystical shape of a prayer, and our register of impressions need to maintain the balance between the pleasure of discovering the joy of recognizing the painted holly trinity of space, of time and one of light too.
